Intelligent Editing ("us", "we", or "our") operates www.perfectit.com (the “Website” or “Site”) and PerfectIt (the "Subscribed Services").
As we are moving content from the “Former Website” (www.intelligentediting.com) to the new Website, both domains may be functional and searchable. The Former Website has its own Privacy Policy which is accessible at: Privacy Policy
Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in the PerfectIt Service and Subscription Agreement accessible at: Service and Subscription Agreement
This policy excludes the practices of entities beyond our ownership or control, as well as individuals outside our management.

The personal information we collect depends on which of our Services you use.
Downloadable Software
PerfectIt Windows Edition (formerly known as “PerfectIt Pro”, “PerfectIt Classic” or “PerfectIt Standard”) is the downloadable version of PerfectIt for PCs. It is usually referred to by its version number (for example, “PerfectIt 4” or “PerfectIt 5”). PerfectIt Windows Edition does not collect or transmit any personal information.
Cloud Service
PerfectIt Cloud service is the version of PerfectIt available from the Microsoft Store, which works over the Internet, with automated updates and no installer. Each time you access or use PerfectIt Cloud services, your subscription will be verified. Certain limited information, including the Activation Information and information regarding your Microsoft account (the “Verification Information”) will be transmitted to us for this purpose only. If you use the PerfectIt Cloud service, your documents are transmitted to a server temporarily. Transmitted documents are encrypted and are not available to anyone but you.

How We Use Your Information

We may also collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit the Website. Third-Party Service Providers
We use certain Third-Party Service Providers to collect, store, use, process, and transfer information. These providers include Facebook (including Facebook ads, also known as Meta ads), Google (including Google Analytics), Microsoft (including Outlook and SharePoint), and Stripe, our payment processor. We may use additional Third-Party Service Providers from time to time as well.
Third-Party Services collect, use, and share personally identifiable information (PII) pursuant to their own privacy and security policies. Some of them, including Google, may use location information and other PII to serve advertisements to consumers on other websites. By using our Service, you consent to our providing PII with Third-Party Services to be used in accordance with their own privacy and security policies as they exist today and as they may change in the future.

You can opt out of having your activity on the Website made available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity.
Service Providers for PerfectIt Cloud
For PerfectIt Cloud services, we may employ Third-Party Service Providers and individuals to facilitate providing the Subscribed Services, to provide the Subscribed Services on our behalf, or to perform services related to the Subscribed Services. These Third Parties have access to your personal information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
Links to Other Sites
The Subscribed Services may contain links to other sites not operated by us. If you click on a Third-Party link, you will be directed to that Third-Party’s site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any Third-Party sites or services.
Compliance with Laws
We will disclose your personal information where required to do so by law or under an order of a court of competent jurisdiction, or if we believe that such action is necessary to comply with the law and the reasonable requests of law enforcement or to protect the security or integrity of the business or the Subscribed Services.
Security
The security of your personal information is important to us, and we are committed to using commercially acceptable means to protecting it. Once we receive your information, we enforce strict procedures and security features to prevent unauthorised access. When appropriate, robust encryption methods are used, both in transit and storage. We also implement measures and controls to safeguard your personal information including, but not limited to, staff training, continuous monitoring and improvement, effective data segregation within our environments, and network access controls.
International Transfer
If you use PerfectIt Cloud services, your information, including personal information may be transferred to—and maintained on—computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction. If you are located outside the United Kingdom and provide information to us, we may transfer the information, including personal information, to the United Kingdom and process it there. Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer. If a dispute arises regarding the international transfer of data, you agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over the matter.
PerfectIt Windows Edition software does not automatically transmit any information over the Internet.
Your Data Protection Rights Under General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights. Intelligent Editing aims to take reasonable steps to allow you to correct, amend, delete, or limit the use of your personal information. If you wish to be informed what personal information we hold about you and if you want it to be removed from our systems, please contact us.
Children’s Privacy
Our Service addresses no one under the age of 16 (“Children”). We do not knowingly collect personal information from Children. If you are a parent or guardian and you know that your Children have provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy occasionally. If we make a material change to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you either through the email address you have provided us, or by placing a prominent notice on the Website. You are advised to review the Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to the Privacy Policy are effective when posted.
If the Business Changes Hands
We may, from time to time, expand or reduce our business and this may involve the sale and/or the transfer of control of all or part of our business. Consistency Checker and Abbreviation List
We offer two add-ons for Google Docs called Consistency Checker and Abbreviation List. They are also available as add-ins for Microsoft Word. The Privacy Policy for these programs is identical to PerfectIt Cloud services except for one difference. When Consistency Checker and Abbreviation List transmit documents, those documents are not encrypted when they are saved to the server (though, like PerfectIt Cloud services, they are encrypted during transmission).

All information and software on the Website is provided ‘as is’, without any other warranties or conditions, express or implied, including, but not limited to, warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, or those arising by law, statute, usage of trade, or course of dealing. Intelligent Editing assumes no responsibility for errors or omissions in the information or software or other documents which are referenced by or linked to this Website.
References to corporations, their services and products are provided ‘as is’, without warranty of any kind, either express or implied. In no event shall Intelligent Editing be liable for any special, incidental, indirect or consequential damages of any kind, or any damages whatsoever, including, without limitation, those resulting from loss of use, data or profits, whether or not advised of the possibility of damage, and on any theory of liability, arising out of or in connection with the use, reliance on, or performance of this information.
